The Sky TV link is one of the few remote control extenders which is 100% compatible with Sky, allowing you to control the satellite receiver from anywhere in the house. To distribute the pictures the TV link uses the "extend remote control" feature incorporated in the Sky Digital and Sky+ receivers.

The remote eye is simply placed on top of the television set in that room and relays the signal back to the digital receiver in the main room. The TV link simply connects into the cable running from the digital receiver and into the TV's aerial socket.

For maximum convenience when you fit a TV link buy an additional Sky original remote control so that you do not have to share one remote all over the house!

If you wish to have more than one TV link you must order a distribution amplifier (DA) to achieve the required result. These DA's are the only type that can pass infrared control signals from the TV link remote eye back to the Sky receiver. As with the TV link the DA simply connects into the cable running from the digital receiver and into the TV's aerial socket.

If you have an existing DA that you are unable to replace with any of the DA's above then you can use a Bypass kit. This kit allows you to connect the TV link to your system by bypassing the signals from the remote eye around the existing DA. Unfortunately however only one of these can be used on a system.
